Time tracking that stays affordable

Punch in. Punch out. Get on with the work.

Puncha is lightweight time tracking for teams and freelancers. Hours land on projects, projects belong to clients, and everybody can see how far they are from their target - without a spreadsheet and without a price hike.

No credit card. A whole team is set up in about five minutes.

  • 5 min from sign-up to the first tracked hour
  • 0 € for freelancers, with every feature

Features

Everything a timesheet needs. Nothing it doesn't.

We built Puncha because we needed it ourselves: a tool the whole team actually fills in, that answers the client question at the end of the month, and that costs what a time tracker should cost.

  • Timers or plain numbers

Start a timer and switch projects as the day goes, or type the week's hours in on Friday. Both are first-class ways to work.

  • Clients and projects

Every project belongs to a client, so a month of scattered hours turns into a clean breakdown per client.

  • Teams and roles

Create a company profile, invite your team, and give everyone the role they need - from member to administrator.

  • Made for freelancers too

Working alone? Skip the company setup entirely and keep the same clients, projects, targets and CLI.

  • Public holidays included

Puncha knows the holidays where you live and takes them off your target, so a legitimately empty day never looks like a forgotten one.

  • Weekly and monthly targets

Set the contracted hours per person and see who is on track long before payroll asks for the numbers.

  • Reminders for the forgetful

Everybody forgets. When a month is running short of quota, Puncha sends one email listing the days that are still empty.

  • A CLI for the terminal crowd

punch acme-website punchin. Same account, same data, no browser tab, no context switch.

Holidays & targets

An empty day is not always a missing day

Most time trackers treat every weekday the same and then nag you about the ones you left empty. Puncha knows your country of residence, marks its public holidays, and subtracts them from the target you agreed on.

What is left is a number that means something: the hours still owed this month, and the exact days they are missing from.

  • Public holidays per country, and per region where they differ
  • Weekly or monthly target hours, set per person
  • One reminder email when the month runs short - not a daily nag

Command line

punch acme-website punchin

Half the team lives in a terminal, so Puncha ships a CLI. Start and stop a timer, or book a whole day at once, without reaching for the mouse.

It authenticates once and then talks to the same API as the web app, so an entry created from your shell shows up in the team's timesheet immediately.

  • punchin and punchout for the running timer
  • punch acme-website punch 8h adds a full day after the fact
  • Project slugs you can remember, so there are no ids to copy around
